"Great production, writing and performance, those horns are TIGHT! (smiles) Very solid pop & R&B music. It reminds me of great music of old. (When music was still music)" - Speech (Grammy-award winner with Arrested Development)

Tower of Power’s leader, Emilio Castillo, doesn’t take on a lot outside projects. He almost exclusively focused on the band he has led since its inception in 1968. So, when Emilio takes the time to produce a CD for another artist, one should take note.
Emilio played an important role in the development and release of ‘Lookin at Tomorrow’ from Mark Dolin. Mark is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Mark Dolin has a distinct voice, and with Emilio’s assistance, has assembled an all-star band for this project.
David Garibaldi – drums
Raymond McKinley – bass
Bill Moio – guitars, solos on cuts 1 and 3
Emilio Castillo –tenor sax, vocals
Mike Bogart – trumpet, trombone
Kaufee Johnson – vocals
Clarke Rigsby – vocals, guitar on opening of cut 4
Dave Eskridge – horn arrangements, cuts 2, 4 and 9
Mark Dolin – lead and background vocals, soprano, alto and tenor saxes and solos, flute, harmonica, vintage pianos, organ and synths, steel drum, percussion
If you’re a Tower of Power fan, you should just go buy it. If you’re not a Tower of Power fan , you should still just go buy it. It’s that good.
The Parking Lot Hang and Belly Up are currently getting a 9.8 and 9.6 rating repectively from our listeners. That is out of a possible 10.
Good response by the audiance so far....
Regards,
Raoul

Mike" Bogart, along with TOP road manager and world-class bassist Raymond
McKinley and Bill Moio on guitars laid down the rhythm.
Kaufee Johnson and Clarke Rigsby contributed vocal tracks and Mark Dolin
performed multiple duties, including lead and background vocals; soprano,
alto and tenor saxes and solos; flute; harmonica; vintage pianos, organ and
synths; and steel drum and percussion.
...earlier that week Raymond McKinley, Emilio and DG, had the pleasure of recording with Phoenix songwriter and singer, Mark Dolin. We recorded 10 of Mark’s songs at the great Clarke Rigsby’s studio...Mimi was producing, Raymond, Mark and I were doing the playing. Great songs...
UPDATE: On November 14-16, 2006, I had the pleasure of working on songwriter/singer/instrumentalist, Mark Dolin’s first recording. As I told you in an earlier post, we...that would be Emilio Castillo producing, Raymond McKinley playing bass; DG (me) drumming and Clarke Rigsby engineering. The work was done at Clarke’s studio in Tempe, AZ. A great time. All really great stuff.
